Jeep City started in Sydney Australia in 1954 by a man called Don Parson. Don worked for the Army servicing and supplying Jeep parts. Some 25 years later he sold the business to a man called Rob Rye. Rob owned the business through the 1980's when lift kits, chrome tyres & wheels and accessories for 4x4 and Jeeps went wild.
In the late 80's Rob moved the business to Rainbow Beach QLD from Penrith NSW. Fast Forward to 2010 and I was looking for a new Direction in my life after working in my Family Tyre business for 20 years. It was time follow my own dreams. I had an obsession with Jeeps, mainly the older CJ’s and I had just stubbled upon a business called Jeep City that was for sale in the latest Just 4x4 magazine.
I rang the number and spoke to the owner. He invited me to come and view the business premises, meet some suppliers and talk about the future. We made a deal in 2011 and started preparing our location to take on a business. A month after signing the agreement we took 2 Pantech trucks and packed 2 x 40 ft containers with all the inventory and shipped it back to Canberra my hometown.
At the time my partner and I had just had our first baby Ruby (short for Rubicon) and moved the business into our house shed 16m x 7m . I was still working at the Tyre business in the days and setting up the new look Jeep City at night after baby time. That was 13 years ago now and I still workday and night on the business, I’m passionate about my Jeep business and dedicated to excellent customer service and supplying quality new and used Jeep products.
Jeep City has a large inventory of preowned Jeep parts specialising in the Vintage era from the early 1950's through to the mid 1980's. We also dismantle and keep many modern-day Jeep parts for Wranglers, Cherokee's and Grand Cherokee's. To compliment the preowned parts in stock JC imports quality aftermarket new parts from Crown Automotive based in the USA.
